Paul Beckingham.

I am a realism painter based in New England, with a particular love for painting flowers and still life. I love to capture small scenes showing off nature or telling a story.

Floral subject matter challenges the artist to recreate piercing color and elegant lines, and when presented in certain lighting that accentuates the form, can create works of beauty.

Still life paintings do all that and add the element of narrative, which can pose questions or invite the viewer to unravel the story. Both timeless and nostalgic elements are used to that effect. I like to look at larger scenes as though they were also still life.

I like my work to present a viewing experience that invites a closer look.
